Today was our first day hunting for geocaches!!! We made some mistakes and we had some lucky finds. We started at QWP in Annapolis in search of
Pac-Attack and had no luck. After 30 minutes of searching we gave up, it was too f'n freezing for Brooke and Kristen to stand there while I dug in the briars. It sucked, I demanded a machete, and a sandwich. We left to grab a snack and regroup for the next cache. Later we realized what we had done wrong and we plan on going back to find it later this week.
Next we m

oved on to
SneaQue and were successful! I wore rain boots, being the genius that I am, and so since we thought this one was along the muddy banks I had to go tromping through the muck with my Garmin shouting "Echo" beca

use we thought that was how we would find it lol. After much searching (and sinking) we thought maybe the cache was at the top of the hill and not the bottom at the bank. And we were right. Kristen
(left) was digging around the brush near a tree while I was climbing up the hill and she found a cache in the shape of a frog!!! We took a tennis tattoo, left a Hannah Montana card, and signed the blog. There were 2 muggles that passed us as we examined our findings but I think they were too into each other (2 teenager lovebirds haha) to know what we were doing. We waited for them to leave before replacing the cache
(right).We moved on to
Bight's Overlook and I found this one
(right) with virtually no problem. The cont

ainer and contents
(left) don't match the original according to geocaching.com but we know it's the same one because of th

e log and the coordinates. It was suuuuuper cold here because it's on the water and the wind was giving us a beating so we made this one a quickie. We ran back down the path as fast as we could to get back to my car to warm up.
We moved on to Truxton Park to look for
GC1J67X. SOMEBODY *ahem*brooke*ahem* entered in the coordinates wrong and we wandered around in the cold on a wild goose chase until I realized that SOMEBODY had selected directions to the park, not directions to the cache. So after a min of pointing fingers we ran back to the car again and drove to the correct coordinates. We had no luck and yet again I found myself tromping around in the mud and ivy looking for the cache. The ivy was so overgrown and there was so much garbage there it was disgusting, you could hide an elephant there and nobody would ever find it. At one point I found myself standing with one foot on something so warm (when it was freezing out) that I was convinced it was a dead body. But then I realized that I was an idiot and that it couldn't be a dead body because that would be cold. Either way I was disgusted and Brooke and Kristen were standing at the top of the cliff again freezing waiting for me. We gave up. We're gonna try again when it's not so cold.
Our next cache we hunted was
Rain Garden, had no trouble finding the coordinates however we couldn’t find the cache!!! It was a small well defined area in which the cache is hidden and we still had no luck. There was a ton of garbage here too, so after sifting through the garbage for a while we got mad and stormed back to the car. Apparently this cache is VERY small and VERY hard to find.
We moved across the street to where
One Man Stands Tall is located and again we found the coordinates but didn’t find the cache. We decided to give up and go home to decipher codes to make our hunts easy, we had no idea it would be this hard. On the way home we decided to give it one more try at Mexican CafĂ©. We looked for
Ole'! which is apparently supposed to be real easy to find (one person logged online that they saw it from there car before they even got out). Well we suck and couldn’t find this one either. We decided to blame it on it being dark out.
That’s our first day! Brooke and I managed to keep our bickering to a minimum.
We only fought over:
*How she says “on” (it sounds like “whon” when she says it)
*The difference in the pronunciation of “on, whon, and one”
*When we argued about “on, whon, and one” last
*Who punched in the coordinates wrong on my GPS
*Me not handing her my GPS and making her get it herself
*What a rain garden is (she wouldn’t tell me and I knew she wouldn’t tell because she didn’t know and she kept insisting she did but wouldn’t tell me)
*Why I ate only the icing off of a piece of cake and then left the cake part in the cake pan last night
